Looks like GOG's on a roll, they're really starting to expand their offerings (all DRM Free) :

This launch adds these (currently on sale) :

Europa Universalis
Hearts of Iron
Crusader Kings Complete
Majesty Gold HD
Majesty 2 Collection
Victoria Complete

I can see I'm going to have to crack my wallet open here . . .

Good on them for getting all these new publishers on board.

Yep, they're up to 945 DRM Free games so far, and from this it doesn't sound like they're done :

mistermumbles: I'm not expecting GOG to be able to keep up that momentum.

Shame it's only older games and not more modern things like EU3, but in the last couple of weeks they added Disney, WB and Paradox, which shows they aren't slowing down, and at least some publishers are OK with DRM free.

Paradox stuff is already DRM free. Even the games on steam run without steam.

let's see them keep getting material at same time as steam and then the competition fire will really be going.

Not going to happen because GoG doesn't accept pre-completion games and many publishers insist on DRM.
Plus there is more of a focus still on older titles, but many indie titles do come to GoG around the same time as Steam (unless they were pre-completion Steam releases).

EU4 isn't AFAIK. I know 3 was.
you need Steam to install EU4 but after that you can play it without Steam. It gives you a warning that some options will be disabled (like multiplayer), but then you can go on and play. This is if you run the game straight from the eu4.exe, not from the Steam shortcut.
