Ugh.i cannot stand that new song....i actually went to see them a little over a year ago.
i cannot wait til they have run thier course....along with about 15 other rock bands.


rock needs serious help right now.it is horrendous.
 
They are Alice in Chains wanna-bes. They even stole their name from an Alice in Chains song. And yes, they suck.

I can't stand Godsmack. The drummer in my band loves them and insists that we do some of their songs. I reply that we should do songs that require talent 😛

I agree.. Absolutely nothing like Alice in Chains.

BTW, we need a new group that comes out with some new and interesting material like Alice in Chains did and Nirvana.

I like Godsmack.. but I agree - some of their songs are really annoying. However, Godsmack at least has no signs of wussiness. Groups like Linkin Park come out with some great songs.. then they come out with a whole new CD that sounds just like mere variations of the same set of songs. Metallica has already dropped to suck.. Their music is a moot point, IMO. People hate them for ruining Napster.

Offspring should come out with a new and different CD. They're a great band.

Music has been sucking hard lately. I would even love to hear a real Kid Rock CD.. I mean, where he actually sings his own composed music instead of playing this kiddy sh!t that the stations want him to make. The guy is seriously talented.. yet stifled.

Ugh.. Rock is hurting.

I can't stand most new rock. But I actually kinda like Godsmack.

I couldn't stand Alice in Chains though. Them and Pearl Jam and Nirvana were all responsible for that grunge movement which I hate with a passion.

I wish 80's style heavy metal would come back.
 
I heard Faceless sucks, kind of recycled. Their past two albums have been good imho

Offspring is nothing more than a gimmick band now. Smash was the one good album they had. Ixnay on the Hombre (sp), Americana, and Conspiracy of One have been utter crap. Completely different music from Smash or even Ignition. (2nd album) The Offspring have no real hope of ever becoming a real band unless they return back down to earth and stop putting out trash

godsmack totally sounds like alice in chains. obviously the vocalists sound different, but the songs are very similar. in fact, alice in chains is probably the most influential band from that period. people talk about nirvana, but they really didn't have any effect on modern music.

but unlike alice in chains, godsmack really really really suck.
 
Godsmack is great and they sound absolutely nothing like AIC. I don't know how it's even possible to think that they do. Go find me a single Godsmack song that sounds anything like rooster, heaven beside me, anything off the Jar of Flies alblum, etc. They're two completely different bands.
 
i will never understand people who call Godsmack AIC wannabes...

their first two albums were great. this new one is a little bit of a let down, but it does have some great songs that will keep them going. and their new drummer is amazing. i saw them on tour last summer and it's still up there as one of the best concerts i've ever been to.

Pulse Ultra is awesome so you all know
Chevelle is also awesome
A Perfect Circle is good too.
Glassjaw is decent
Tool always has some good stuff.
there are lots of other bands that are good too you just got to look for them.
Depswa has a few good songs from their album.
Deftones also has some good stuff, New album coming soon. I can't really decide if i like Minerva though :\
 
I liked them simply because they are not afraid of the endangered guitar solo. Has anyone ever heard, say, Papa Roach or POD do a guitar solo? I don't know who has told these bands that solos are bad. I liked Drowning Pool and Disturbed, but they basically play power cords. I grew up with Jimi Hendrix, Zeppelin, etc. I love the electric guitar, especially when it is put through a good workout, not just power cords.

I really like Queens of the Stone Age.

I saw Godsmack on MadTV tonight. Man, the lighting was ridiculous. They had these banks of really bright lights behind the band pointing at the camera. It totally washed out most of the song, really stupid idea.

Speaking of A Perfect Circle I thought they were supposed to have another alblum coming out in feb? Wtf is up, are they ever going to do anything but that one alblum 🙁
 
They're annoying IMO. Stone Sour, Chevelle, Glassjaw, Pulse Ultra, Taproot, Queens of the Stone Age... all good bands!

yea, I cant stand the lead singer's voice in Godsmack.
