Godfathers Pizza's Math/Logic is hilarious!

So the wife decides to have me order pizza. Godfathers is running their Jumbo 18" Pizza for $14. Decent deal so I call the one nearest me. They're out of the Jumbo regular crust. I decided to call another one near me as my wife hates thin crust. They're out of the regular crust too. So the kid offers to replace out the jumbo with TWO 12" mediums for the same price "Ya get more that way, sir, so that's a better deal". Told him to hold on and I sat down and did the size comparasion on the computer. Hmmmmm, 2 12" pizzas are 10% less in size than 1 18" pizza. Told the kid that and he was speechless. I bet that kid's asking everyone in the store if I was right.

Am I the only one that gets this anal over a pizza deal?

hahaha, but seriously tho it would seem logical to assume two 12" is bigger than 1 18". Eeven thogh in reality its what about 14 square inches smaller

Well, it's about 18 square inches smaller in the deal. That's one less slice of pizza that my 4yr old can fight for!:Q

But.. you forget crust. You get more crust with the 2x12" pizza's than the 18", so I am willing to bet more mass in the long and (and thus more filling.. hrm).

Actually I get more toppings that in two mediums. (I use to manage a Little Caesars and this was a hidden key to their 2 mediums for the price of the competitor's Jumbo! We also cut back on the topping amount.) But I just ordered from the Brooklyn Park store using my square area logic. The poor kid was thoroughly confused that he got his manager on the line while he was doing basic geometry. The manager saw the figures and went with the 1 large and 1 medium deal I proposed.

hrm, yes topings == expensive for the resturant, but the bread is where most of the immediate expendable energy is (carbs), so I still wonder if the 2 mediums would fill you up more than a single 18 incher..

The area combined of the 2 12 in pizzas would be 72pi while the area of the 18 in pizza is 81pi.

It is actually 11.1_ % less.

ha ha, if it wasn't because I did the math, I would have accepted his offer.
