While you're replacing your wheel, see if they can replace your rotor too....it's lookin' a little rusty. ;)

Sorry to hear about that... I've got a friend that was doing some late-night drunk driving. He ended up scraping a curb right after he got new mags on his 300zx. He not only scraped the heck out of the rims, but blew both tires on that side. I think it ended up costing him around $900 right after he had paid whatever for a new set of mags and tires for the car. Tough break.

Good choice on buying a new wheel. Re-finishing only one would never match all the others.

If you are going for a new rim, then keep this as the spare and sic the dremel on it. Just be sure, as stated above, and don't dig too deep into the metal.

chances are it's something better than a mazda ;)
say what you want, but for their price range each of the mazda models puts up a hell of a fight. w/ the exception of the luxury class, the mazdas will beat out most any cars in their class.

1. mazda3's (pic1 pic2) only competition is the scion tC. civic, corolla, and any other entry level car will get it's ass handed to it.
2. mazda 6 is extremely competitive. it's sportier and better looking than the camry, accord, or altima. it also has the nicest interior of the three imo, although it sucks that the NA version is stuck w/o the navigation (what other cars are in this class? ford taurus? pfft)
3. the rx8 is just a absolutely gorgeous, and is also very unique. i can't think of any sports cars in this price range i'd rather have, although i really wouldn't buy a sports car.

there's also the miata for those that like convertibles, and the mazda wagon that's very aggressive looking. let's also not forget the mazdaspeed6 that was just released that everyone is going gaga for. mazdas aren't luxury cars, but less than 10% of the population owns a luxury vehicle.

so actually, no. chances are, it's not better than a mazda.

just ordered my new wheel. i was really upset at first, but now i figure i'll have an interesting item with which to decorate my room.

anyone know how much it costs to mount/balance wheels? our family mechanic can do it cheap, so estimate on the low end.

The OEM 17" wheel for your '6 is only $120.00 from mazdastuff.com

EDIT: Just noticed you installed the OEM 18" RX-8 rims. Those wheels look sweet on the Mazda6.

actually, they're not the OEM rx8 wheels. i was going for the rx8 look, but wanted something just a tad bit different. i have the mille miglia EV-S. people get confused because i dremeled out my old mazda center caps and epoxied them on top of the mille miglia caps, which i sandeded down. i wanted people to think that these were mazda oem wheels.

Scion tC gets its ass handed to it by the Mazda 3? WTF are you smoking? It's probably better than the Corolla, but I won't say it's better than the Civic until I see some longterm reliability reports.

Mazda 6 is more of a niche car. I'd put it in the same category as the Camry and Accord overall, but it targets a slightly different audience. So my response is different strolks for different folks.

You can't think of any other sports cars because you are biased. The overall reputation of the rotary is not good.. and it'll be a while before this new rotary engine can prove itself. Plus, how many times has Mazda lowered the horspower rating? I'll gladly take a Honda S2000 or a Mitsu Evo over the RX-8.

lol, Mazda couldn't touch my previous vehicle or my current one.

fair enough.

the honda s2000 reminds me too much of the miata. i don't like convertibles, and i think it's also very feminine looking. a friend of mine is about to buy the s2000, and after looking at it more closely, my initial feeling is confirmed. but i suppose that this is just a matter of preference...uh, the mitsu evo? now you must be the one smoking. just because it's in the same price range, it doesn't mean that it's in the same class. when you buy an evo, your $30k goes straight to performance. it's ugly, the interior is cheap, and it has absolutely no style. the rx8 is the complete opposite. what the rx8 lacks in performance, it more than makes up in it's design and unique character. you cannot compare the two cars.

lol, Mazda couldn't touch my previous vehicle or my current one.
well fine, but like my post clearly shows, i was betting on the odds. i'm only 22 and just started working, and i absolutely love my car. so, the m3 will have to come later, but right now i couldn't be happier.

and let's some some pics of your oh-so-mysterious uber car.

You should have at least tried to get the car wash place to pay for that.... unless this was entirely you being stupid in the way you pulled up to the car wash. Ignore those signs that say they aren't responsible for damage...

i thought about that, but it would take too much time to get the results i want. i would be better off making money at work, the opportunity cost is too high.
