Just got a call for the 3rd time this week from the same company trying to tell me that I've ordered something from this company called "World Assist", then the proceed to ask me (in a very fast manner that I can barely understand) that they've got my credit card and need my verbal authorization to charge $150 to it to send this package out to me. I then ask for their company name and tell them to take me off their list. The bastard yelled at me and said "you've already ordered this, dumbass!" and then hung up before he gave me the company name and number. The number came over as restricted so I can't call them back.

So WTF? How the hell does a company have my credit card number? Who the fvck is "World Assist" and what's this "package" they're trying to send me.
 
don't answer the phone

p.s. its a trick to sell you something, if they have your voice on tape authorizing the charge, the dispute/chargeback is likely to fail, so again, don't talk to them

also, watch your CC statement closely, if anything funny shows up, immediately dispute the charge IN WRITING with your CC company

What's worse is it's my cell phone. My little brothers number comes over as "restricted" (he's at an army base) so I thought it was him.
 
its either a scam, or they don't actually have your number they are just trying to trick you, but if they do have your number i would watch your CC account to make sure no purchases that you do not know of are made

I'd try to get to the bottom of that for sure.
 
i luv telemarketers. One day i was bored and some guy called me up and started talkingto me about some great service. I was bored so i just sat there watching tv and listening to the guy. I asked questions and all \.
After about 30min the guy is like "Alright well you seen pretty sure about switching, what do you think?" Im like well your 30min speech was very convincing and has helped me pass 30min but im sorry, im not doing jack Sh#t at this time. It was funny cause i letthe guy speak to me for like 30min just to have his time wasted in the end

Scammers operate in direct violation of the law, selling fraudulent goods and services or seeking personal information for identity theft.

Telemarketers are legitimate companies calling people to sell legitimate goods and services.
