In my area, there aren't any good indoor gyms (I really need a good indoor track to start off)...and there aren't any good adult rec leagues...

How to stay in shape?

Doing something always helps. If that includes sex, highly recommended.

Get on a treadmill as that will work for your track or better yet jog outside in the cold weather through snow as that will be even better.

I feel your pain.
First, get the mindset it doesn't have to be either or.
Doesn't have to be couch potato or full on gym.
Until spring comes, at least do the basics so you are not totally giving up.
Walk the malls, the skywalks, the neighborhood, something anything no matter how basic and simple.
I know one guy that walks round and round up and down an eight story parking ramp downtown. Be careful for the crazy drivers.
So when spring comes back around and you can start back into a more energetic exercise program, at least by then you won't be re-starting from square one, jello legs.

Buy a shovel.

Go walk around neighbourhood

Find the seniors and offer to shovel their driveway for free.

You can put a chin up bar in your house, get a mat for situps, etc.

If it's cold outside then hopefully you have ice and that means skating. Skates are cheap and are good cardio.

Wear layers(non-cotton) and go running outside.

Both of these are good ideas. I used to run outside in the winter, in fact i hated running for the first 3 years but i loved the high i got from it so I kept doing it. You really do not need much to stay warm and if you are running you will warm up within 1 mile. Get a nice tight long sleeve shirt, the really do keep you warm, get a good fleece to go over it and regular pants, sox and shoes. As long as the temp is above zero you can run outside and not die or develop hypothermia.

Treat mill?

Do some exercises (pushups, sit ups etc).....

Better yet, join local YMCA and do some swimming....best exercise you can possibly do

It you want to bad enough you will find a way...

Commit a crime. The stress and paranoia from being on the run will help you lose weight.
