The PS3 is all hype anyway. I say there are problems w/ them overheating or disc-read errors within the first 2 weeks of the release.
They have the money and/or desire to spend that much for the system? Not that I agree with the method of how it happens.
The same exact thing happens with sporting event tickets, concert tickets, etc. Some jackass(es) buy up supply that they have no intention of using, other then to create artificial demand and then sell it at whatever the highest price they can get. I live in Boston and I often see scalpers doing just this with STACKS of tickets in their hand on the street around Fenway, usually charging at least double the face value.
These eBayers auctioning PS3s for extreme sums really are no different then scalpers.
