Are they badly managed, your needed software not on the macs, or are your classmates idiots? Just for the desktop, I'd be using them. 🙂 (Or, by some fluke, do your Windows boxes not horribly suck?)

They're new (1 year old, the labs aren't public so only cs people are on them), they're the only computers with the software (and hardware) we can use, and my classmates are pretty smart. The windows poxes next door are 233(+/-) pentiums on win 2000/Linux with sh!tty monitors.

The pc's get used much more often
 
It's kind of funny using the computers at the library here at school.
Just about every single windows machine will be used, and almost every mac will be empty.

These are dual 1ghz macs with 512megs of ram too. The PCs are all crappy dells.

Anyways I just use the macs, they have office and firebird on them 🙂.
 
i thought macs made a nice "car crashing" sound when they crashed..at least that's what they do for me 😛

Maybe we go to the same school...that's exactly how it is here
 
you do know it was anand "the man" who took down the anandtech servers with his mac right? he plugged it in and it shut down every single pc attached to the network 😉

Wow... the apple tech guy actually got the mac server up and running again only for it to die again in the midst of working. At least, I refuse to work on my Photoshop art in class. Working at home on my faster comp is so much easier and I don't have to worry about not being able to save my work because it doesn't crash. Oh well, project extension and more ATOT browsing for me 🙂.
