GoDaddy hosting

I'm looking for a cheap webhost, and Godaddy seemed nice, total 1 year cost of ~$40 for hosting + domain (cheapest package), but, obviously, it seems too good to be true for the price.
Do you get what you pay for, is there some catch? There seems to be a lot of talk about Godaddy vs Namecheap for domain names, but not much about the hosting offered.

(Or, is there anything else that'll be at most $5/mo with 1GB space or more preferred, 3 domains, that's a better idea than Godaddy)

I got on the dreamhost $9.24 deal. 1TB transfer 20gb storage 1 domain

the bandwidth speed suks.

I've seen deals better than that on WHT.

My son has used GoDaddy numerous times. He hasn't had any problems or conplaints with them.
