GoDaddy/DNS question

I'm a little confused by GoDaddy's management screens. I registered a .org domain name with GoDaddy yesterday. I have a DNS (BIND) server to act as the primary, and I'm using granitecanyon.com for the secondaries. I entered ns1 and ns2.granitecanyon.com in the "Name Server Information" section, and I entered my BIND server's hostname and IP under "Domain Host Information". At the moment, I can dig at my ISP's nameserver for my domain name, but it only shows the granitecanyon servers as authorities. Do I need to enter my server in the "Name Server Information" section as well as the "Domain Host Information" section? Or is this just one of those things that takes more time to work itself out? The GoDaddy FAQ was rather unclear on the issue, IMO. I notice that my nameserver is registered properly (both hostname and IP) at www.pir.org.

You need your DNS server's IP listed as the first Name Server. Then the granitecanyon servers listed as 2 and 3.

I think the Domain Host information is used for specifying that GoDaddy should still use their own nameservers but your domain should be pointed to the IP you specify. This is ignored if you specify a Name Server (as you've specified granitecanyon).

Actually I found this in their FAQs. I'm not sure what the "registering" of a DNS server does compared to just specifying that your server should be the authoritative server.

Hmm.. but the thing is that you have to list nameserver by hostname, not IP, in the "Name Server Information" section. So, since my DNS is registered with whois, I can go ahead and list it? I saw the same FAQ answer, but it seems to say that you only enter your own DNS server in the "Domain Host" section, which doesn't make much sense to me.

Yeah, I suppose I am paying them after all. I went ahead and listed my server in the "Name Server" section. If it doesn't show up in another day or so I'll give them a call. Thanks for the help-
