GoDaddy.com - Get a .com for $6.95

I've never seen prices this cheap for domain names before, especially for GoDaddy. They are a superb company and I highly recommend them.

If you need help getting a name, check out SnagAName for a list of recently expired domain names.

You can potentially make a ton of money if you purchase good names and resell them on eBay.

Darn! and I just paid $7.95 to register my domain at GoDaddy last month . . . 😛

J/K'ing . . . was a great deal and now even better!

Very nice price especially for .com

If you need a Hot Deal on web hosting, here are a few ... remember "you get what you pay for"
  • RippleHost.com is offering FREE DOUBLE UPGRADE (200MB/4GB) on new accounts.
  • e-rice.net is a longtime Hot Deals favorite
  • SolidInternet.com is a great choice for $30/yr offering 500MB/5GB but no Perl or CGI support.

Hostway has been $6.95 /yr for .com for a while now. I've used both godaddy and hostway and am very satisfied with both. Only thing I noticed is that godaddy.com appears to push their extra services more so there is more crap to wade through to find the little 'no thanks' button when all you want to do is register a domain name. Still a great deal for either company.

I'd add another year or two at that price. I always like to be a year or two ahead on registration, which reminds me....

I thought you did NOT recommend RippleHost (except for dirt-cheap hosting). 😛

Sure looks like one to me.

I only RECOMMEND a few web hosting companies, RippleHost is not one of them.

However if you're looking for cheap web hosting, I will SUGGEST it as it offers the most bang for your buck.

My apologies . . . I musta confused: <<If you need a Hot Deal on web hosting, here are a few . . . >> as a recommendation instead of a "suggestion".

😛

how are you guys renewing for $6.95? It comes up for me as $8.95 (my dot com already is using godaddy, so its not a new registration or transfer.)

Thanks! I just transferred my .net for $6.95/year for 5 years!! Regular price for new .net and .org registrations is $8.95, but transfers are only $6.95/year.

Anyone remember the deal a few years ago where domain names could be purchased for $0.01 through Staples/Register.com?? I bought 10 or so domain names back then haha.

Unfortunately the renewal prices aren't the same as new or transfer prices or I'd renew my domain (that don't expire until end of 05) just for the price.

If I want to creat a web page...have a guy do it. What is the best optionto choose ont he right?..The hosting options. I will be selling a few water cooling items on the site. Thanks!

Your best option is a 3 step process:

1) Register a domain with GoDaddy.com or NameCheap.com

2) Find a web host (other than GoDaddy), prices range from $10/yr and go up from there.

3) Get someone to design your web site or find a web host who offers a built-in site builder or auto installer scripts. This makes designing a basic web site very easy, even for n00b's like myself.

GoDaddy and EpicDomains appear to be twins.
Similar to, say, Dodge and Chrysler or Ford and Mercury, ...

Sites are extraordinarily similar.
Options, features, order of features, sometimes even fonts are the same!
But, of course, not identical.

Both (GoDaddy and EpicDomains) are currently offering $6.95/yr *transfers*.

I have and plan to continue *transfering* back and forth, once a year, substantially before renewal time.
Rather than pay $8.xx as a *renewing* customer!

Since they're "the same guys", both offer quick, easy and painless *transfers / concierge* services. 🙂

How many domains ya' got?
Worth $2 to reply to both sides of automated emails to authorize the transfer?

Other info at: Thread: $5.99 Domains (.com .net .org .name .info) from 1and1.com
Also .com, .net and .org domain names cost a registrar $6 to buy from the Global Registries (Verisign and Public Interest Registry) so the fact that this place is selling domains that they bought for $6 at $5.99 would raise immediate warning flags to me. But hey, if you are willing to take chances, more power to you.

<--- used to work for a Registrar.
