god, windows sucks

i tried installing enter the matrix, 4 Cd's took about 20 minutes and had a fatal error each time. losat 40 minutes of my life that i'll never get back.

Only thing I don't like about xp (actually it's probably an IE6 issue) is that I can't see where a link will take me when I cursor-hover over it. Everything else seems good. Fast boots and hibernation are 2 great improvements over 98se.

It sounds like your digitoy is unstable. R u overclocking?

yeah, it did that for my installation as well... they weren't fatal errors though, just a box asking for disk 1 each time a new disk had to be inserted.

?I beat some Vampires in the Courtyard, and then the game crashed.?

This occurs when you let the Vampires chase you and then defeat one or more in the Courtyard. The Vampires should be dispatched in the rooms you find them in. Your best bet is to load a previously saved game and dispose of the Vampires as you come across them.

this is just one of many incidents in a day full of blue screens...

I found initially XP much less stable than Win2k but I've not really played with it in a while because 2k does absolutely and utterly everything I need with top notch stability.

If you get tons of blue screens, you can't build a computer, easy as that. I'm assuming you use win2k or windows xp. I NEVER get blue screens on the machines I build.
