God of War PC system requirements are looking very inclusive. Considering

It seems like 2GB and under cards are going to be left out in the cold on these new console ports. The venerable GTX750ti would not start the game in Halo Infinite. And now it looks like GoW will need a 4GB card for 720p30. Still, very cool that they listed so many different res and settings and the hardware for them. Don't usually get that.

What's the reason for the SSD recommendation? It uses a lot of data streaming?

-Any game launching into the current hardware environment would be well served including 5-7 year old hardware recommendations in their spec charts, otherwise they may just lose pre-orders and day 1 sales as those stuck on old hardware just assume they cannot run anything modern.

I find it interesting how the spec chart GPU section basically just creeps up the popular mid-range cards from prior generations until it gets to Ultra on the latest gen of cards...

Likewise, why is the CPU requirement doubling between 1440/60 and 4K/60? Draw distance reasons?

Sad to see my PC falling in the low to medium range for new games now, but I still refuse to pay $3,000 for a single GPU, especially considering that's what I spent on my current PC that's lasted me over ten years. I had planned on sinking around $4,000 to $5,000 when I built my new PC, but given the current prices, that'll be half the entire budget on just the graphics card.

I'm stubborn enough to burn through my entire backlog and replay every single game I own multiple times while I wait for GPU prices to go back down to something reasonable.

If your PC is primarily a gaming machine, it's not that crazy to devote half your budget to the GPU. I've never done that, but I'm considering going closer to that 50% mark than ever before, for my next build. Said build might be in ~a year, after the next line of CPUs and GPUs are out and DDR5 has had another year to mature. Or maybe I'll wait one more year past that. I don't know. For now, I'm chugging along with my 1070/6700K.

Santiago testing with a number of lower end cards on a 10400f and 16GB of 3000MHz. You can enjoy this game on fairly modest hardware. Skip around and check out the results with FSR ultra and res up to 4K.

I will wait until the price is $20ish. Did a couple of playthroughs on PS4 pro, so in no hurry at the moment. It looked and played great 1080p SS mode.

Everyone is pretty stoked about a Playstation game being on PC, and allowing Xbox controller prompts.

Pretty impressive port to be able to do 60 fps with 832p FSR to 1080p on a 570 and 1080p mostly 60 fps at 1080p on a 1650S. Glad to see such an amazing game gets a first rate port from Day 1.

For anyone jumping into this game for the first time, I highly recommend the Give Me a Challenge difficulty. I usually hate selecting hard difficulty in games because it makes enemies bullet sponges instead of intelligent, but Give Me a Challenge kind of makes this play like a Souls game. And especially if you do the Valkyrie fights.

I watched zWORMz gaming play this last night on a 3060ti and his RAM and Vram kept climbing the longer he played. He played at all 3 resolutions with and without DLSS.

I played for a few hours today and I noticed this also. At the start I was using about 6.5GB and then 2 hours later 10GB!

My 3090 is not included on that list.
Which makes me realize, i think most 3090's are not even used for gaming but mining since none of them are LHR.

I can max out everything @ 2k/165hz with a 3080 so you should have nothing to worry about with a 3090.

Right now all that vram may be going to waste on gaming but 3 years from now it may be another story... the 10gb's in my card may look like 2gb's does now!

The memory leak has been fixed.
