I'm surprised no one has created a thread on this game! The game will be released on 3/12, and I'm looking forward to it! Plus, I heard that the game gets you access to demo "The Last of Us".

So fellow spartans, who here's looking forward to this game?

Me. I beat the trilogy and beat one of the handheld games too so I am pretty big fan of the series.

I don't expect it to top the third one though since that was just non-stop awesomeness.

GoW 3 is the only one I've ever played and I loved it. I'll be picking this up but will probably wait a few months. Still have a bit of a backlog in front of me.

I kind of expected this since this is basically a "milk the franchise" type of game. The first 3 games had an obvious overall story arc that kept the game interesting. This is just like a filler of what happened before the trilogy which honestly really wasn't needed.

Apparently there is a stage called Trials of Archimedes that is referred to as unfair. The game just goes from hard to downright punishing. Very few life orbs and such and wave after wave of enemies.

One review I read said they spent 9 hours getting to that point then spent a further 6 hours beating wave after wave of enemies.

Thing that's pretty strange is the rest of the game is called the easiest GOW game ever.


Oh and if anyone needed a push to get the game, it apparently will come with a demo for The Last of Us that will unlock on March 31.

One I remember most fondly was Zone of the Enders coming with a demo for Metal gear Solid 2.

Love the GoW series but I bought the last one released for the PS3 (the combo pack where they remastered the PSP GoW games) and haven't finished those, so I'm torn on whether I should get the new one.

EDIT: Amazon is giving $10 in Amazon credits for pre-order, along with DLC.

so this is fucking retarded. i went to the redbox near my job to pick up god of war and the fucking touch screen is all fucked up on the redbox so i couldn't click on 'pick up reservation'. tried for like 2 minutes.

it's raining out and i tried wiping it off with a napkin and it still wasn't working. when you press down the cursor shows up in another part of the screen. i did find a button i could press where the cursor stayed there, and it did not register me pushing the button.

and now there are no redboxes around that have the game in stock...

bah just went back now that it's not raining and sunny out, and the kiosk is totally fucked still. and no redbox around me have it in stock so i won't be playing it tonight unless it pops up somewhere.

at least they did give me 2 game credits though so that is nice i guess. would still rather have the game than the credits though.

I was going to buy it, but I'm leaning towards gamefly since it seems that the campaign can be completed in about 10 hours

I have read a few reviews today that all mention the rather short campaign. I guess all the talk about how it still had a fleshed out campaign was all PR talk. I am very glad I didn't waste $60 on this game if it is that short. I will hurry and beat it this weekend and send it back so I can get Bioshock Infinite in a couple weeks.

That's comparable to the first one. The third one is about 12-13.

im not surprised at all that is about right for the other 3 i've played. was just stating that it was a reason why i didnt purchase it. i bought gow3 and played it for 3 days straight and it hasn't seen my ps3 since.

luckily i had success and the redbox right by my house had it on the way home so i snagged it. gonna put in a lot of hours tonight.
