I'm trying to get in shape so I can run cross country this fall and have been running a mile a day (at least, ran 2 the last few days) and hit the gym for the first time ever yesterday (i've lifted in PE in junior high but that's it
) and I noticed an immediate difference.. but my left arm (was always my weak arm) hurts when I stretch it out. In other words I mean I can't reach out my arm and keep it straight very long. I've gained more muscle than I've ever had in my left arm just from going to the gym yesterday but should it still hurt like this 36 hours later? I know it's just because the muscles are tight but is it because I'm just not used to it?
