God Metallica sucks

In their quest to become the single most hated band of the 21st century, Metallica invited some bloggers/reviewers to their studio to listen to 6 or so tracks. No NDA was signed or anything like that.

So the bloggers wrote up some reviews (which apparently weren't exactly glowing) and Metallica promptly demanded all the mean articles get taken down, or there'd be legal action taken. I mean, how can a group of grown men be such whiny babies? Every time they're in the news over the past 6 years it's been to bitch and moan about some inane, perceived problem they have with their fans, critics, whoever. This would be embarrassing behavior for Enya, never mind a supposed "hard rock band".

Since they have a few thousand hardcore "Metallica can do no wrong!!" fans I'm sure at least one person will chime in to defend them, but seriously, I hope the majority of people who hear about this find it as pathetic as I do.

It's probably pretty much all Ulrich. The guy just oozes bitch/asshole/jackass/NapoleonComplex constantly. It's really too bad that they became a bunch of dicks, I loved everything up to and including AJFA and liked everything then on, except for St. Anger. I think they reached the height of moronic-ness with SA and are now a bunch of idiots. The detuned mics, stupid thrashing, horrible snare-less drum...etc, ruined the whole album. They've wasted the last 10 years being idiots and I don't think it'll change. I'll try to listen to the new one when it comes out, but I am probably not going to buy it.

I hate it when people criticize bands like Linkin Park for using too much "computers" in their music, and not having "talent." LISTEN DUMBFUCK, IT SOUNDS GOOD. NO ONE CARES IF YOUR FUCKING INDIE BAND PLAYS WITH WHATEVER GUITAR. THE END IS WHAT MATTERS, IT'S MUSIC!

Who seriously listens to bands because they do philanthropic or other wierd hippy shit? No one. I could careless if ROBOTS made music, as long as it was good. I don't care what the band looks like, or any of that.

My memory might be getting foggy, but what was wrong with what Metallica said about Napster?

That's exactly what was happening. They were dead-on right, and weren't afraid to speak up about it. Others did, too, but I guess Metallica was probably the biggest band to raise hell about people stealing music.

Always funny to me how people that get caught doing something wrong are always the ones that get pissed off. Like bank robbers that get mad at the cops for catching them.


Now, St Anger certainly did suck, and suck hard. The drum sound (snare) sucked, the lack of guitar solos sucked, and Hetfield's voice was pretty much gone.

Hopefully, the new album will be better, we'll see.

I'm fine with you expressing personal distaste with LP's music, sure.

But the latter part of your post. I don't care about guitars, see. I really don't. I care about the song/music being "good" to my ears. That's it. I can give a rat's ass to someone who can play LP's songs on a guitar. Why didn't they release the song them?!
