Religious people sadden and frighten me... religions in general bring out something in humanity that is so egregiously offensive.

I would personally never dictate what someone else should and should not believe. It's their business, but when I see the logic on how the believers think non-believers actually are, it can be pretty disturbing.

Look at this simple, incredibly ignorant statement that's appluaded. It's literally highly valued among deity worshipers (Edit: I forgot to mention that that cropped quote is from the link to the video).

I've met plenty of highly intelligent people that believe in something like that and they tend to just leave that out of any social discussions. Good job bro. That's how you do it.

It's the religious masses that are dangerous. They get together. They agree with something someone on Fox News says. They can't form basic opinions of their own, but they all agree with each other. God definitely exists. How can they spread his word and grow their numbers?

one of my favourite parts:
Hovind explained the Biblical account of Noah as follows: Noah's family and two of every "kind" of animal (including young dinosaurs) safely boarded the Ark before a −300 °F (−184 °C) ice meteor came flying toward the Earth and broke up in space. Some of the meteor fragments became rings and others caused the impact craters on the moon and some of the planets. The remaining ice fragments fell to the North and South Poles of the Earth, concentrated towards those regions by the Earth's magnetic field.

what a genius this guy is.

Watched it. It is pretty much an exercise in semantics. He uses the most vague definition of god and only the god described in the first few paragraphs of genesis to try to repackage the laws of nature into the definition of a god. If you want to call the laws of nature, god, that is your prerogative.

Ya, read that Strawman and responses. I'd be angry if I wasn't so sad that people actually believe that shit.

It irritates me as a christian when religious scientists use confirmation bias as "proof" for God. This is not a new thing.

The BB is a THEORY and not even a good one.

Religious people often use the BB as a semi-proof for God (because we don't know what was before the BB)...but ignoring the BB is..well JUST a theory.

There had been recent scientific findings which hint there was no "single one Big Bang" http://www.businessinsider.com/new-parallel-universe-theory-2015-1

If [this theory] holds true for our actual universe, then the big bang could no longer be considered a cosmic beginning but rather only a phase in an effectively timeless and eternal universe.
Aside from that, wanting to prove or disprove god with science is retarded.
This is valid for religious people who use (pseudo) science to bolster their BELIEFS..but also for those scientists who think they're smart to disprove spirituality/religion/god with science.

Nothing invalidates a "scientific claim" for me faster than a sensationalistic headline, but I found this guy's spiel very interesting from a philosophical standpoint - even if no actual proof is given.

discuss...

Well you posted in the wrong forum, take this to P&N to get the ass reaming you deserve or Discussion Club where they are required to tip toe around an OP's tender ego.

have you not seen the ongoing trident thread??????????????

Satans Trident spear removed from the dead hands of the king of the seas and satan is even using his throne in hell at this very moment.

Even the Greek spelling of Jesus in Greek means HAIL ZEUS.

So now the frogmen Marines are an agent of Satan spawn by using the icon of the trident.

NICE!!!!!!

Theory is as good as it gets in science.

Well since there used to be Gods and now there is only one God I'm guessing he must have killed off all his peers and now, like judge dread, he is the law.

IIRC the Bible just states that you should place God (Yahweh) ahead of any and all other gods, not that there are no other gods.

Ugh. "Begining of Universe!, therefor God!!!!!!"

Few other things thrown in. God of the Gaps arguments all.

He failed to even mention modern inflationary based multiverse hypothesis. Although I suppose at some point you always end up needing an uncaused God to start it all anyways, so the thing that his faith hinges on wouldn't apply to this universe like he thinks it would. Instead it would hinge upon the multiverse, or environment in which the multiverse exists in.
