God I love Mike Tyson

I did watch the clownshow.
My take is he used 2 rounds to let JP know he could hit him, then let the contract kick in and was paid 20m to let JP spar with him for the following 6 rounds. Mostly avoiding everything that was thrown at him. Mostly.

I also think that maybe he was biting his gloves to keep from instinctive counter punching to be thrown. Maybe.

Also the sweat difference between the two was telling. IMO.

I thought the same thing. Taking his aggression out on that glove to prevent him from winding up and whipping Paul's ass.

I have no idea how this was a sanctioned fight. From the 2-minute rounds to the gloves with extra padding.

Iron Mike with the bum knee who managed to do some serious footwork a few times? Smart move by a few of the betting sites who refused to action on this scripted charade.

I mean the promotional company is JP's co. So I didn't have high hopes other than Mike saying eff it. BUT, the under cards were pretty good, the women's bout was exceptional. I think also 2 min rounds, not sure if that is normal for women's boxing, or was it the other fight that was 8 rounds. The first one?

Looked to me like Mike got hit a couple times in round 2, and didn't want any more of that at his age.

His gas tank was also empty. Maybe he wasn't supposed to hurt Jake, but it looked like he couldn't muster the energy even if he had wanted to.

I watched it just because of the hype. And I did enjoy the first few rounds where Tyson was putting on some heat. But honestly, outside the hype, I don't think it's a meaningful fight for Jake Paul in terms of demonstrating his boxing skills and power.

If you win: you beat 58 year old Mike Tyson.
If you lose: you lost to 58 year old Mike Tyson.
There's really no benefit, because even the victory has a glaring asterisk - this is a retired Mike Tyson, not the heavyweight champion in prime form.

yeah, Mike just looked old and tired to me. He did throw a few out there, but I think he pretty quickly responded to what it's like being hit again, but now at his age, and just camped up for the rest of the fight.

I think if he wasn't going to come out and end this thing in the first 2 rounds, it was only ever going to go down like it did...but I'm not sure if anyone expected him to have that in him these days. ...I did imagine that a ~30% Mike Tyson would just destroy this guy with one of his jab > uppercuts, but I also didn't realize how big Jake Paul was, lol. I thought he was the other Paul. I never knew there were two of them.
