Wow, I have been sitting by my door waiting for a package to come. The tracking number stated it was out for delivery.

It now says that they attempted to deliver it but I wasnt here. I was sitting next to my door all day and no one knocked or no UPS truck.

That is bull crap. The driver was probably to lazy or running out of time because he fell asleep.

Damn UPS!

Maybe they attempted delivery at the wrong address? Normally they leave something on the door if you're not home.

Hmm, it seems they left a note on the apartment door. I guess they didnt feel like walking up my apartment steps....

I shouldnt have gotten 2day air if I knew how lazy they were.

It happens to me sometimes too except they don't leave a note either. I usually assume they were probably too busy(or lazy) to make an actual delivery attempt and just pretended to make an attempt.

lol, this is why I get everything shipped to work now. UPS never misses a step when it comes to my workplace address.

I used to have this happen all the time when I lived in a third floor apartment. Our complex was always one of the last stops for UPS, and often times it would just go from "out for delivery" to "attempted delivery" with it saying that I wasn't there, when I really was. I always called the local center to complain.

Nope no door bell or anything. I made sure that the door was unlocked for today as I was expecting the package.

My UPS driver does the same thing every time. He refuses to leave a package or ring my doorbell when I'm actually there to receive it. One time I sat where I could see right out my front door and sure enough the truck came... stopped... and left in under 5s. Enough for him to 'guess' that I wasn't home and leave without even walking to my door. FWIW, my front door is < 10 ft from the street too.

Now I just ship everything to work.

Thats a good idea. They treat their corportate customers MUCH better than residents. My only issue with that is I wouldnt get Saturday stuff.

This has happened to me on more than one occasion. It drove me crazy when I was waiting for a bunch of deliveries from newegg to build my newest computer. That's why I use fedex if at all possible now.

The last few items (at least 3, maybe more) that were shipped to me via UPS have all been 'rescheduled' to a later delivery date within 24 hours of being shipped for no apparent reason.

Damn UPS!

Bad delivery person is, well, bad.

It's Fedex that does this to me all the time while it never happened with the regular UPS guy.

This doesn't have anything to do with the company, it's the delivery person who gets the route to your house.

Similar story from DHL - I live in the same building as a convenience store, and packaged normally get left with them, rather than left outside my door. Well on this particular day I was home (winter break), and was sitting in my native habitat: At my computer, which is near to my front door, maybe 10 feet away.

I saw that the tracking info had changed to "Attempted delivery," but there was no package. Day 2, the status changed to "Delivered," but there was till no package.
The people in the store did have the package, and they said that the DHL guy was complaining because he had tried to deliver it two days in a row, and was "Pounding really hard" on the door here. (No doorbell.) All I can figure is that he's only a foot and a half tall and has a skeleton made of marshmallows - or else he walked all the way around the building, past the mailbox, and started knocking on the door to the store's stockroom. Had that happened, one of them would have surely heard it. Or he was just really lazy.
