Star Craft 2?
the fuck--video games have seasons? wtf does that mean?
I didnt know it either until they started the 2nd season.
They have rankings in the MP portion of the game, on ladders. Diamond, Platinum, Gold, silver, Bronze.
Normally the hardcore losers with no lives who spend 12 hours a day playing are put into Diamond. Guys like me with stuff to do who were never very good at video games end up in Bronze.
Guess people got upset about how the ranking system work cuz Blizzard made a new season every couple of months where those ladders reset and you have to earn your way back up. After last seasons placement matches I somehow ended up mostly gold and platinum, which should not be. I can only assume the hardcore players got bored and quit after the big tournament, or only play in closed games with each other. I am also thinking people deliberately play bad in the ranking matches to get into a lower league beneath their actual skills.
Am amazed I have to explain this shit seeing as how the game was insanely popular for better part of a year. Even people that dont play have heard a little bit about how it works.
