God damn legendary bloatfly!

I used a fully upgraded Holorifle and stuffed my character with Psycho, Med-X and there's one that's a mix of both. Took a while still...

Slasher. And apparently you can combine all 3. Holorifle sounds good to me. But I didnt bring it. Brought gauss, tesla and some others. Will have to wait until I'm done, go back, and pick it up.
Or use mods to give me a gatling nuke or shotgun gauss or something similar.

I tried with with gauss too, died fast. It just takes too long to reload and one shot takes too much AP. That bloatfly's plasma shots hurt like hell. Was inside a Remnant's power armor, didn't make much difference D: It dropped me like a fly anyway :awe:

A reload later, combined Med-X+Psycho+Slasher plus stimpaks under a hot key allowed me to live long enough to kill it. Thanks to the holorifle (this thing is insane!)

EDIT: A regular LAER or Elijah's LAER, either fully upgraded work fine too.

This must be one of the DLCs because I don't know what a holorifle is and don't remember any legendary bloatfly.

Two DLC's. Dead Money provides the Holorifle and some other weird/sweet weapons, not to mention a vending maching that eats garbage and spits out good junk.

And Old World Blues which provides some of the toughest challenges I've seen yet.

Level 50. 2000 HP and the nastiest attack you can imagine. One hit kill on my level 50 character with energy resistant armor. Not to mention a buttload of feats that add to my resistance.

Oh. 😱 I was going to suggest Punching it, but that doesn't seem like a valid method.

Were you down on the first level with it? Trail your way up to a ledge where you have the height advantage plus there's a bit of cover up there. It takes a bit assuming you don't cheat. I used a gatling laser and made somewhat short work of it. I also had a shit load of ammo too so that helped. Plus having the perk that lets you know their HP also gives you an advantage.

It is pretty funny to go into that cave and come up against a big ass bloat fly. Needless to say I didn't expect to see it when I came running into the main cavern lol.

Make your way through the tunnel up to a ledge. Crouch so it can not spit on you, then stand and shoot it with the most powerful weapon you have.
Crouch - stand/shoot - crouch, repeat.....until it's dead.

(What pw38 said....)

Heh, I remember when I came across it. "Oh, it's just a big boatfly, no problem. One or two hits should do it."

Needless to say, that wasn't my best moment of brilliance.

Sounds like a pain to kill. I totally lost interest in New Vegas, I even bought the Zion DLC and never found the motivation to finish it.

Most of them arent great, but Old World Blues is a lot of fun. Tons of things to kill, and when you finish upgrading your little hideout you can pretty much destroy any garbage and turn it into any good thing you like. They also added a ton of recipes, the best of which is stimpaks and super stims that automatically activate, along with a new stealth suit that auto-activates some other things like Med-X.

I heard Old World Blues was one of the better ones, but the Zion one was supposed to be good too.

The main game was great and I beat it multiple times for the different endings, not sure why most of the DLC wasn't as good.

Damn dude, i was about to come and call you a noob then brag about how i took down the legendary deathclaw... level 50? never mind then lol... I dont have the DLC anyways.

Heres how some guy defeated it:

He says its the 2nd most powerful enemy... wonder what the first is.

According to the Fallout Wikia it IS the most powerful enemy. Nothing else tops it, officially. Even an Alpha Deathclaw is weaker, easier too cuz no ranged attack.

😱

Damn, Deathclaws pwnd me until I got a decent Sniper Rifles and a couple Companions for Meatshields.

Fatman from very far away. That's what has been my usually method thus far. I never was even scratched by Deathclaws in Sloan once I was loaded up with enough. That and a missile launcher when the fatmans ran out.

I never had an issue with Deathclaws either. I don't know why someone would to be honest. Just pick a good vantage point and pound away at them. Most places where the Deathclaws exist have multiple good spots to simply snipe them all without any fear of getting attacked.
