I realize that this thread will probably be locked, but I really have to say:

I am so impressed with our country right now. Over all the crises in the past few years I've seen, no one "seemed" to care when crap happened to our country, and was ready to point the blame at a political figure or some other silly thing. I was weeping for our country had something this serious happened. Well I was proved wrong. Today I really think America came together. Donating blood, money, time etc en masse to the victims; *most of us* put aside trivial things and really came together. Normally on crises you'll see other crap still going on; the crisis making the headline, but the rest still there. Well right now the attack is all that matters right now, all the news casts and news websites are totally covering the attack and nothing else really. People who normally go "oh thats pretty bad.....moving on.." are now actually stopping and caring. I see this as a beacon of light for our country. Hopefully this patriotism won't be easily forgotten. God bless America!

EDIT: Every radio station I've heard so far today have played patriotic songs or our National Anthem. More evidence of a budding patriotism.

eh... some people think people who show patriotism are those who feel inadequate and have to, for some reason, prove it to others. Me? No. I think the more patriotic you are, the better.

I haven't donated blood or given money yet, but I just might. Have you? It's too bad that I can't help any more than I can from here.

<< Have you? >>

I'm broke, but I sent as much money as I could. I take "Accutane" so I can't give blood, but would give the 3 gallon max if I could.

Definitely. Like I said, I hope we don't forget our patriotism.

I was going to post some negative commit towards bleeb but I won't realizing it would be just out of frustration inside my head from soaking in all of the horrible news, pictures, and videos of todays events. I do not think this post will be locked or should be locked. This is not just another thread started about the attacks but one about the love of our country and people. God does bless this country, and I am proud to be part of it.

Wik: I'm glad that it isn't locked. But I was going to say some negative things about you too, but I won't either because I'm also frustrated by all this tragedy, and realize it would be pointless.

Bump for patriotism!

<< Better wake the &#%^ up folks. >>

Very true. This is a big wakeup call (religiously, security-wise, or otherwise) that needs to be remembered.

Those who can do the above, should. Those who can't (for whatever reason), there's plenty of other things you can do. Become a Big Brother/Sister. Volunteer for local charities. Spend time tutoring kids who need help in school. The impact is always greater when you get directly involved. Writing a check to the Red Cross or donating blood in efforts to help the victims is good, but being a positive force in your own world is even better.
