Has anyone tried running GoBack 2.22 under W2K? According to their website, roxio.com, W2K is not supported. But I'm wondering if anyone has tried, and what their results were. Thank you.

still dont understand the point of these goback...ghost...etc software...why not just reformat...all the time it takes to ghost etc...takes the same amount of time reformatting...i dunno...just dont like those kinds of software...waste of $$$ if you ask me...
backup-wise...always keep a hard copy of your data!!! dont leave it on the comp...hahaha...thats why they have cdrw's:D

and to answer yourquestion..if they say it dont...it prob wont work...trying it may just muff your system up...then you gonna have to use ghost or something..hahaha

10 minutes for a reformat or 15 for an entire OS with all the software applications back again? Ghost works, and its an enterprise favorite for a reason. You go on reformatting and reinstalling though. :)

Probably won't work with win 2k if they say outright that it won't. Try looking for a FAQ or something though.

last time I tried to install win 2k it took about 30 minutes to install. After that one has to install drivers and then apps. Also count the reboots in between....
I use drive image . It restores everything I have(OS+apps) within 10 minutes..

Notice I said reformat. NOT reinstall the OS and all of the applications. Use office 2000? Thats a 15 to 30 minute install alone. Thing is huge. Games? How many do you play? 5? Thats a chunk of time too. Keep laughin tho. If thats your idea of fun I will be playin games in the meantime. :) God I love HalfLife. :) I love playing with computers but reinstallations are just a pain. Get it set up right once and then ghost the thing. Thats it.

Uhhh sadb0i are you smoking crack or something? The reason you're talking like that is because you've NEVER used Ghost. Yes, GoBack sucks ass but Ghost is a different story. Installing EVERYTHING that was on your PC from scratch can be an all day event. After formating, installing OS, installing the servce packs, installing Office and installing all your other things like drivers and apps, this could take a loooong time. Never mind tweaking everything to the way you had it before. Now compare that to 15-30min Ghost reimage and you are back like nothing happened. If you want to waste your time installing everything from scratch that is fine by me, but I've got better things to do with my time. ;)

Got Ghost?

It is absolutely great to be able to restore a full load on C drive of Win2K in about 9 minutes total from start to finish. My only experience with GoBack left me thinking GoAway.

Hell yeah Ghost rocks! I enjoy spanning my image files and put them onto a bootable cd w/ the commandline. Now you show me how you can reformat/reinstall your os, and all your apps/games/utils/etc totaling 2.5gb in 14mins. Another good thing to think about is if you have two partition, I just added a batch file to my task scheduler that backs up my email/icq/favorites and my docs to the d drive. then just copy them back over when its done ghostin'

Gosh I can't speel today....
