I have been testing the MSI Z87 MPOWER, and I am getting used to the BIOS - so hope to have a lot better results to post soon.
This board is easy to work with and if you have a Z77 MPOWER it really is nice coming from that board to this board in terms of usability and BIOS. I really enjoy the audio of this board when I play BF3 or listen to music (or both at the same time). The board feels solid both in usage and physically, it definitely felt beefier than the past boards I have used on my bench.

Pics don't seem to be showing up.
What voltage and temps at 5GHz? Also what kind of TIM / cooling?

BTW : WTF, how did I miss that you're in Des Moines before this

5 GHz @ 0.976V.

Take screenshots when it is at its peak. Although it is still quite an accomplishment to reach 5 GHz. Mine's a lemon overclocker. :\

Are you using IE ? as there seems to be a conflict with the pictures and IE - chrome and firefox are fine though.

Voltage 1.3v and the cooling is a Corsair H100 with high CFM fans.
I rather like living in DSM though ( Condo in Clive very soon ) so I don't feel that much like a prisoner lol. Plus seeing the world makes me like IA more and more (even the Fed up weather)

FYI - CPU-Z version 1.64 doesn't properly read voltage yet ;) It is a known issue ( or rather non-issue) as we wait for a new version addressing Haswell

Yeah, using IE9. Worked fine for me in Opera and FF.
Haha, just kidding about Ames. More of an inmate because I was in grad school for a few years, I like Ames and Des Moines just fine :p

MPower board and not using voltage probes? Shame on you. :colbert: Well, I didn't get the opportunity to actually use them too, just didn't have time finding a good quality multimeter. :p 5 GHz @ 1.3V is great. Mine wouldn't even be stable enough at 4.7 GHz @ 1.4V.

Hey Goat,

How is the offset voltage adjustment in the MSI bios? I know this is a new feature because MSI boards never had the offset for the last 2 years. I guess they were living under a rock :p

Good thing the Z87-GD65 has voltage probe points. Time to bust out the 'ol Fluke this evening while OCing :)

Goat : How did the H100 hold up? The reviews so far stated that 5GHz / 1.3V would pretty much require a custom loop / phase change.

I was never one that liked or cared for offset voltages. I am old-school, and my method is brute force when it comes to benching. I also believe that with Haswell offset voltage was a needed thing as well. There is a good article on hwbot.org regarding Haswell OC theory which I was reading and referring to when I was testing pre-release

The H100 is holding some high speed fans so its doing well. I was able to get down to 1.29v @ 5GHz and still testing lower. This of course means nothing until I get my retail CPUs as I need them for competitive benching. I will try the voltage check points soon, I never usually use them unless I am testing under sub-zero temps
