and here is why some countries will always be third world and poor....

Perhaps it is the result of being hopeless and impoverished

And uneducated. Go back a few hundred years and most Europeans would have believed that without question.

I'm rather certain Joe's point is that we have many hopeless and impoverished people right here in the US who believe similar superstitious tripe, but then we have many of mindless yet wealthy ones who do too.

Holy Shit I'm lucky... We usually leave the keys in our cars & have a lot of goats. Hmmmm... come to think about it, sometimes it seems as if we're going through more gasoline. I've always just dismissed it as one of my kids made an extra side-trip somewhere. But... maybe the goats are taking our cars at night and going joy riding?

that is really Baaaaad; you have some out of control *kids*

set up a web cam and write your mileage down

you might give them a good bleating if you catch them
:p

i cannot see why "believers" in one religion can think they are superior to another
- they are all pretty illogical .. and religion is all based on "magic", lies and fear of death

there is no more factual basis for believing in the bible than in "witchcraft" - maybe less
- look at the nonsense written in the most popular book in the world - that people swallow stupidly without questioning anything about it at all !!
- simply because their parents believe it [and they never questioned their parents, and so on
. . . back up the chain of ignorance]

I once worked with a man from Nigeria, happiest man I have ever seen but also superstitious to the point of being weird.

Prime example, he told us of how he placed a voodoo spell on his wife so her vagina "is a trap for other men", he described it as "if a man sticks his **** in, he won't be able to pull it out and go "ARGGGGG" ". At first a few co-workers thought he had put a mouse trap like device inside his wife's vagina, but he later clarified he had only used a spell.

as long as his wife believes, that is what matters to him
;)

religion works .. but just like for that superstitious man

the pagans look at other religions - christians - as weird

they don't try to convert you
- by hook or crook

unlike christendom's missionaries

and they don't care what illogical nonsense you believe

Further clarification is KEY in these situations.

Hmmm, has DrPizza gone missing lately? :)
When they closed down Abu Ghraib, they got a few folks from Nigeria to turn everyone there into goats. DrPizza is actually running Abu Ghraib 2 now. The prisoners have been drugged up to prevent escape, hence the constant fainting.
