I am looking to part out my desktop so I can get a big laptop. Looking at the 9300 by Dell. I don't game much, but I do like to play counter strike so it has to be able to do that at 1680 x 1050 for I will be keeping one of my 2005s to hook up to the laptop at home. So my question is what sort of performance hit will I get switching to this laptop?

1.86 Pm @533FSB
1GB RAM
go6800 256MB
60GB 7200RPM
I will be leaving a:

3400+ AMD
1GB RAM
BFG 6800Ultra
74GB Raptor

Thanks

Thanks for the info.

Does anyone know how I can find out which version of the 6800 is put in the 9300 (128 bit or 256 bit)?

I wonder if I call up sales if they would know. The Anandtech article said there is several versions of this card 128bit, 256bit, DDR1, DDR3, and several clock speeds. Don't want to sound too picky but I for sure want a 256 bit card with DDR3.

Thanks again guys, I don't remember that article the first time through, but then again up until about a week ago I hadn't ever wanted a laptop. But I will be starting grad school here soon about 75 miles from home and would like to have all my stuff with me. I know I should probably be looking for a smaller notebook but my wife has a 700m and I can't stand the small keypad and monitor. Like I said before I have a couple of 20 inch dell widescreens and the thought of moving down to a small laptop screen is more than I can handle.

Not really. I run 1600x1200 on a 6800 Ultra. That has more pixels than 1680x1050.

Thanks guys.

I did find out from Dell that it does have the 256bit memory controller and that the core is 400MHz. However I was unable to fine the memory type and speed, but I have an email out to customer support.
