thats the whole fscking point it's a comic-book style movie. have you not fscking heard of superman, batman or any of that kind of stuff???

by the same token, you can call the lord of the rings a bunch of BS, because obviously medieval times were NOTHING like that except for swords and armor.

First off, calm your ass down.

Sky Captain is being touted as a revolutionary film because the actors were all shot against blue screens, with all the sets, action and other elements added by a computer later. I don?t see the big deal, considering George Lucas has already been doing this with the ?Star Wars? prequels.

There are utterly silly leaps of logic throughout the film, For example, Sky Captain and Polly fly his fighter plane from New York to Napal without refueling, but somehow on the way back, they?re gonna run out of fuel in the middle of the ocean. Or in another scene, Polly learns the background and history behind the mystery of these robots by rifling through an attache case and looking at a few photos. Who wrote this garbage?

This movie is like Las Vegas in the morning. Oh, it looked great at night, but when the sun comes up, you see it for what it really is - in all its depressing, worn-out glory.

As far as comparing this movie to Lord of the Rings, Lord was entertaining and had a solid script, this movie is boring from start to finish.

Hollywood keeps on making brain dead movies, becuase we the public will pay to see anything. That my .02 cents

One might argue that a film like this is escapist entertainment, and that logic takes a back seat to fun factor, visuals, and whatnot. While I can easily understand why you might not like this movie, I did like it a lot as a great visual feast, and homage to the great old serials of yesteryear (which, by the way, contained all the same logical "problems" that you didn't like).

And I take issue with your knock on Vegas, but that's another thread.

and u think giant robots make sense?

the whole movie is fictional, and I think the plot is purposedly made to be like that

I have no idea why people just cant stfu sit down and enjoy a good action movie without picking at every little thing. It has explosions, giant robots, and ANGELINA JOLIE. If thats not enough please go to window 3 and turn in your penis.

They never said they flew NY to Nepal non-stop...

The attache case part was weird, but they needed to give you some background somehow.

I saw it yesterday and it was probably one of the funnest movies I have seen. It has a 74% rating on RT at the moment(link).

Check it out if you like serial-like movies (Rocketeer, The Iron Giant, Star Wars). I thought it was pretty enjoyable.

most fun
