Do they have to drink a fifth of JB each if they win? Sounds more like a Joe Camel scam to promote underage drinking than an "award" to be proud of.

Tobacco and alcohol companies sponsor all kinds of things to make their products seem "cool" to "the kids" by association, they do this since they aren't supposed to market directly to teens. Starting a label for new bands is all part of the marketing of the "Jim Beam lifestyle" to teens and young adults.
