Go see Woodsman

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0361127/

Great movie, Kevin Bacon is amazing, he plays a guy who was convicted of molesting little girls, and he just gets out of prison 12 years later. They take him through his life out of prison, returning back to normal life. It's dark, disturbing, and just overall really well done..

i thought it was a standard issue pic. nothing mind blowing. so some molesters aren't like hannibal lecter..well yea duh.

Life through prison and then readjusting?
Err, wasn't all that covered in Shawshank Redemption? (Different crimes though).

So, what's absolutly concidental is the fact that I just finished watching it and sat down at my computer and the first thread I saw was this one. Weird.

Oh, and sad movie. 🙁

WHAT???
Did you watch a diffferent Shawshank? There was no "then readjusting". He escaped!
terrible comparison
Shawshank was mostly set INSIDE a prison, The Woodsman had NO inside prison scenes. So the commonality of 'prison' between these two is moot.
Nice try. Get some basis before you attempt to crap in threads.

Anyways.....

Having spent a lot of time working with offenders, I found this movie very well done. I have recommended it to several of the therapists I contract with.

nothing mind blowing
yeah......in fact, I doubt there was ONE cgi......sigh
it merely had some genuine realistic portrayals with a solid script
but who wants that?

I would give it about 3 1/2 stars out of 5, it was'nt the greatest movie I ever saw but Bacon is a really good actor. Mos Def was really good too

You say he was convicted but was he actually guilty of the crime, or is there an underlying story concerning that?

Yeah, he definitely was guilty of it..but otherwise the man had a big heart.

i don't care if it was "realistic" or not. it was still dull. an exercise in acting or a character study does not make for a good movie
