Go see the Vagina Monologues

I went to see a Ga State University production of the Vagina Monolgues last night, and I was pleasantly surprised. I knew very little about this going in, and like most guys thought it was going to be alot of feminist BS propaganda.

I left amazed and amused. It turned out to be hilarious, and at times sad and moving. I don't know about other productions, but this one was an all volunteer cast and the admission goes to V-day, and organization dedicated to helping stop violence towards women and children.

If you're in the Atlanta area there is another production of it tonight at 8:00 at the Rialto theater. If you're a student at any school (college or high school) it's alot cheaper too. Everyone should go see this, go with your girlfriend, she'll think you're progressive.

"If my vagina could speak..." that's basically what it's like right ? I heard about it... not interested, personally.

I always wanted to see this "play" and i never got a chance to. next time it is in the area, i will go for sure!

You watch a lot of Lifetime, don't you?

😉

There are a couple of "if my vagina could speak" parts. There's also one monologue of a woman metaphorically describing her vagina how it used to be and how it is now because she was raped for a week by 6 men during the Kosovo war. And there's also one about a female sex worker who only services other women and she describes eliciting moans from women and goes through the different ones. Through most of it (not during the sadder ones) everyone in the theater, male or female was laughing hysterically at it. It was surprisingly entertaining.

And no I don't watch lifetime.

Are that many people really unwilling to see something because it's women talking about female body parts and female sexuality and are not trying to turn you on? Have we reached such a sad state in this nation that as men we are unwilling to give this a chance just because feminists enjoy it? Wow, I'm getting sad now. If nothing else you can see a play that is quite funny and the admission doesn't line someones pockets but instead goes to a charity.

More because it sounds like another minority whining about being a minority...when, in fact, they really AREN'T except because they make themselves such. (IE., women who isolate themselves from men "because they are women", and then complain about being treated differently.)

As an example - if someone made a play called "The Penis monologues" about how awesome it was to have a dick, and how it could sometimes be sad, but it is really cool overall....

...do you think ANY paper wouldn't blast the author as a arrogant misogynist asshole? Yet, it's okay for women to do that. Why? They aren't SO different, except when they make themselves so.

If it was any good, they'd rave about it and tell everyone to go see the penises ... much like the response to Puppetry of the Penis, I imagine.
