Not really, you should be able to.

And what is your reasoning behind that? If a person is in an environment where they never have to use their chest muscles for the majority of work, but do a lot of squatting, pulling, why should they be able to instantly benchpress 100%+ of their own weight if they have never lifted before? In this case, their back, shoulders, and legs will probably be stronger than the average person. That doesn't mean we should make what they can do the given rule for everyone else who has never lifted weights.

Remember, ATOT is a place where logic does not exist.

i weigh 210 and bench about 100 🙁 i'm also 6'3" and leg press 500 though 🙂

I can leg press up to IIRC 600LBs and I'm 170... I didn't try more because there wasn't enough back support and it was REALLY hurting my back and not my legs..😕

Last year in February, after not having lifted for a solid year and a half, I was able to bench 135 for one set of 8 reps (we were testing in PE to find a good place to begin and only had time to do one set at each weight level) and at the time I weighed 145. I felt pretty happy with that and just wait til you get a little bit stronger. You'll get a sense of self-confidence that will help you weed out all the epenis flexers in this thread.

If you're honestly asking this question you really don't pay attention to anything on these boards other than your pointless nef threads. Aren't you like 14 or something?

There is, it's just not called PE. So obviously someone is as young as they seem to be from their posts.

Supafly is about the most intelligent poster in this whole damn thread.

Shame on the asshats w/ e-penis advice on this topic.

OP will be hella sore in the next couple days. & if you aren't, you're superhuman. In fact, the older I get the worse it gets as I come back. Every couple years I'll take a few months off. When I come back I have to ease back in more & more slowly each time.

The breaks in between are good for joints & such, but the muscle tissue takes a few to remember.

At one time I could probably bench 300, but I've never had the opportunity. At home (when you get older w/ wife, kids, etc. "buddy" workouts just don't happen anymore) I typically use 60 or 65lb dumbells and those are good enough for me. By my 3rd set I'm good & spent and I really don't care to test how much my shoulders can handle by the time I'm 40!

Grow within your means and push yourself intelligently. It'll make lifting a much more long-term & enjoyable experience!!!!!

Oh........also, you leg press folks need to quit that crap & get under the bar for some good old-fashioned squats!!! Squats=THE best overall body exercise you can perform!!!
