if you think that the best game in baseball history needs to stay in the official baseball thread and doesn't deserve its own thread, you're a dumbass.
It was an amazing game no doubt, extremely entertaining to watch, but it'll never be the best because it wasn't game 7 or even the last game in a series. It'll never even make it to the "greatest" games list if the cards lose the series...

GO RANGERS!

i am a NL fan (Braves), but on the other hand, any year the Yankees don't win is good enough for me

so i don't really care who wins

actually, i'm from maryland.

Well to clarify, people that are born in St. Louis and move away never to return are smart whereas those that are born somewhere else and actually choose to live in St. Louis are not too bright. That place is a shit hole. Didn't used to be. I was born there but have not lived there since 1967, back when it was still a nice place.

first off, don't assume to know about my personal life and why i currently live here. secondly, st. louis isn't as bad as you think anymore.

the cardinals were behind by 10.5 games... they came from behind to miraculously get in the playoffs, beat the world series favorites, win the nlcs, and finally, when on the ropes in the world series, win in dramatic fashion.

an absolute underdog/cinderella/destiny story.

being in the streets of st. louis last night was amazing... the energy and camaraderie was contagious and incredible.

ok.. guy bought $250bet in Sept for Cards to win World Series.

whats the odds?
whats 249k to win 250k?

That same guy also laid down $250 for the Cards to win the NLCS at 500 to 1. $250. He made some mad bank on the Cards historical run.

apparently my friend's dad was at the sportsbook where this guy placed the bet and he (the bettor) and his friends were really drunk and had won big on some other bet that night and went to make that stupid bet, and he actually wanted to put more money on the game but the casino convinced him to only bet $250 each lol
