We should coordinate our trade, prop the dollar up to $2 US for a few days, buy a bunch of stuff, then let it fall back to $0.65ish US. Then we could have it both ways!
 
US is in a recession. Once it's over the American dollar gets stronger again.

Unless something drastic or major happens within a country, the exhange rate doesn't really change all that much.
 
I like the depreciating value of the dollar, as it might finally do something about our hideous current account defecit (circa $500 billion for 2002). Of course, with record defecits approaching, that's not too likely.
