Go CANADA Go!!!

Yay!!!

I really hope this trend continues, as it'll be much more economical to buy things from the USA. It seems as though everything here is so damned expensive compared to the US (computer parts, autos etc...) If the dollars even out then it'll benefit both countries 🙂

The more our dollar is worth the less we'll export to the US?

Yeah yeah... there's a whole ton of other economic implications that I have no idea about... I just know it means cheaper stuff for me 🙂

That graph can be interpreted three ways. 1) Our dollar is becoming more valuable, 2) The Canadian dollar is becoming less valuable. , or 3) A combination of both.

Well yeah, if you DON'T know how to read a graph properly.

You got that all backwards man. The cdn dollar was worth ~63 cents US early on in the year. It's now worth almost 75 cents US.

Cdn dollar up, US dollar down, combination of both.

Okay, you really need to learn to read graphs. The biggest increases in value have been in the past 2-3 months. Just by eyeballing that graph, 3 months ago the cdn dollar was at ~68 cents, now it's just shy of 75.

Still, it's been stable for about 3 weeks. Just my sense of time is messed up. I've been following this extremely closely for weeks because i've been doing a lot of business through paypal lately

Anyone consider that it's both ways? The Euro's been goin up just like our Dollar. So either just the US Dollar is decreasing in value, or a combination of that and our dollar increasing.

Not that which ever one it is makes much difference affecting our economies.....😉

It's mostly the US dollar going down. That site has plenty of graphs of comparisons of the different currencies. Over the past 6 months or so the cdn dollar has gained pretty big against the US, has gained a moderate amount on the brit pound and has stayed about the same against the euro. The USD has pretty much declined against everything.

It's basically, cdn dollar up on world average a decent amount, USD down on world average quite a bit.

The American dollar has been performing poorly as of late. It has very little to do with the Canadian Dollar increasing in value.

You should also be aware that the (previously) low Canadian Dollar was a boon to some Canadian businesses... especially ones that did business with American companies and got paid in American dollars.

You should also consider that Canadian manufactured goods were cheaper to buy than American for American companies...

Hollywood likes to shoot alot of movies in Toronto / BC as well, mainly b/c it was dirt cheap to do so. It's more expensive now....

Yay Canada maybe.... maybe not too...
