GNR song "Civil War"

I keep hearing this song on the radio... Here it is on a video for you tube Text

It is actually a good song... I didnt think axl was able to write lyrics anywhere near the lyrics in this song...

Has it recently been used in a movie or did it just get brought back into the music business because of it's antiwar message and iraqnam?

Here is the wiki on it... Text ...
Just seems wierd to me... good meaningful song by GNR from 93...

Playing a song from a band like that, a lot, out of the blue? Expect a concert date announcement soon.

... I wish I were kidding. The only radio I listen to anymore is NPR.

I just thought it was unusual when I found it out it was from 93... When I first heard it I thought it was a new single or something...

I never bought/heard Illusion II ... I kinda lost interest in GNR and Axle Rose and his ridiculousness and such. It must have slipped through the cracks. Hearing the song three times in the last four days made me think it was new, especially since a war would be a pretty good reason to write an antiwar song.

actually the same thing kind of happened to me, and I bought both albums soon after they came out, on cassette 🙂

That was part of the problem, it was a PITA to get through all that material on cassette. Years later I got the CD's cheap and went on a G n' R listening binge and re-discovered a lot of the deep cuts on the Illusion albums, there's some really strong material there that never got much airplay. I guess it helps that I was listening with different ears. In the last 10+ years I've listened to a lot of music and started playing guitar and more or less refined what I like and don't like about music.

Ya they've been playing that song a helluva lot one of the rock stations, the other not so much. I hear it just about everytime im driving. I started to thing it was like a new gnr song they way they were playing it so much.

Awesome song... one of my favorites by GNR.

Could just be your imagination... or it could be that the radio station plays a limited rotation and they recently changed the rotation. I noticed a while back that my local rock station seemed to be playing Holy Diver by Dio a lot. 😕

It is probably one of my favorite songs of all time. It still have it on my favorite loop on my home computer. So I hear it maybe once a week or so.

A year or so ago I posted my parody of the start (from Cool Hand Luke), and I got flamed from the few people who clicked on it. So here it goes again (I thought of this while on the toilet and found it quite funny):
What we've got here is failure to defecate. Some dumps you just can't take. So you get what we ate here last week. Which is the way he farts it. Well, he smells it. And I don't like it any more than you men.
