gnome-terminal performance issue

Nithin

Senior member
i notice xorg cpu usage goes up to 80% when i'm building a kernel from gnome-terminal. whereas xterm it stays below 5%.

is there any way to make gnome-terminal not suck during scroll?

i like the tabs that gnome-terminal has.

but this issue makes me have to go to xterm.

[Edit] Shading the window helps but I'd rather not do it everytime i build.
