GM's Big Fish take big pay cut

Man everytime I read one of these I'm glad I don't work for GM. I may not make a ton of money but at least I know I'll still have a job next week.

Yeah, now let's see if they do the typical thing, and vote themselves bonuses this year that are twice as large as last year's??

I always wondered why so many of my high school classmates went into business. Now I know. So they can help in the white collar rape of the blue collar workers!

So when the executives get recruited out of GM who will take over? Union members? You guys are so short sighted.

I don't agree that you need to pay exorbitant salaries to attract talent. In large companies like this, there are plenty of talented people who are more than capable (and usually more capable) of delivering results, who would be happy with a fraction of the pay of current management. The notion that you can't have quality executives without paying through the nose is a myth.

I'm waiting to see Wagner give back that enormous pension he approved for himself, then i'll be convinced.

I disagree. People are always trying to get their labor for the least possible price. Why not do the same at the top?

Agreed. If there's a good infrastructure in place, then shifting guys one step up the ladder isn't going to make much of a difference. Heck, I'll take one of those jobs. What am I gonna do, cause the company to lose billions of dollars?
