Wondering, if you have an FRS/GMRS combo radio, if you couldnt reach someone on FRS and really needed to, how risky is it to do a real quick "Hey meet me at the ____ at ___o'clock" on a GMRS channel with no license? Or at least a "Hey meet me there in x minutes" (predetermined place). You have to transmit a little more than that to be tracked or worth tracking, do you not?

I bought my dad a set of Cobra GMRS units and we've used the GMRS frequencies many times without any complaints from the hardcore radio users/call sign police. It's not like they're going to waste their time tracking you down unless you're getting on their constantly clogging up their frequencies without broadcasting your license number.

I had GMRS radios until the local hardcore groupie decided to take me off the air. That was great, and I promptly returned the radios to best buy...sigh.

But I got a feeling that if no one enforces GMRS, then we would have FRS all over those frequencies. Been to a ski resort? You'll quickly see how clogged FRS is with kids.
