GMAT- for those who have taken it

Right now, I'm studying for it and want to take it within a week or two. I've been half ass studying it for the past couple months but I've a few questions to ask for those who have taken it. My main question is how much does the official guide mimic the difficulty of the real GMAT?

A second question is that I find most of the verbal section to be ridiculously easy except for the sentence correction. The authors claim the book is in order of increasing difficulty and I would have to say that I'm getting stuck in the 70-80% range. That is, I can go through about 70-80% of the available problems before I start to "hit and miss" with each problem.

However, the critical reasoning and the reading comprehension are very easy(I've missed very few while going through them). How would this experience translate into a verbal score if I don't improve my sentence correction? Could I expect to be in the 40 range?

My quants suck so overall, I would expect myself to be in the 650 range.

Cliffs:
question 1:

question 2:
I rock at reading comprehension and critical reasoning but am only above average at sentence correction, will I still be able to score ~ 40- on the verbal?

I thought I was pretty terrible at sentence correction until I took the actual test and hit the 97th percentile in English. Either I was very good that day or everyone else was retarded that year. I hit a 740 overall and was scoring 650-660 on practice tests.
