GMAIL sucks

Yup, that's right, it SUCKS.

1. The "conversations" model is HORRIBLE. I'd rather see my e-mails individually, thanks.
2. The "conversations" are necessary for gmail, because there ARE NO FOLDERS. Everything sits in the damn inbox. Their cure? Apply "labels" to different threads. Sorry, not good enough. It's still all messy looking.

so what is so supposed to be so special about Gmail?? Who keeps that much crap in their inbox anyways? I think I gave myself like 10 megs for my storage and I never even come close to filling it.

gooddad: ive come close to filling my hotmail accout when sending photos to family. if you have family who send pics that way, it will be very useful.

Sure, but the whole GMAIL experience rests on these "innovative" departures. Their whole system is based on these labelings and threaded conversations. Without them Google is just another hotmail but with alot more space. They aren't going to consider these things "bugs"

The no folder thing hasn't been big deal for me so far. When I need to find an old message, I just use the search tool.

What bothers ME, though, is not having the ability to check other POP3 e-mail accounts from within Gmail. That's my favorite feature of Yahoo Mail, and I hope that they add it to Gmail later on.

I haven't gotten to try it :'(
but from what I've seen in the screenshots, it looks good. to the OP: I think ultimatebob has the right idea: you're just supposed to search for everything...which seems like a good idea to me as long as it's fast

It's ok for a web-based email service. They all suck IMHO compared to Outlook, Mail.app.

I'd say the charactoristic is people bitching; it doesnt matter if it's free or costs them money 😉
