the conversations thing looks to be pretty nifty.. long email chains acting the way posts do in a forum such as this

yes, the 'show e-mail as thread' thing works very well, i like it a lot.

the other thing that i like a lot is how it's smart enough to hide long and annoying footers and snippet from the previous e-mail.

also, having a 'label' instead of 'folder' is neat, although there really is no functionality difference between the two.

i like using it, too ;-)

you know what, i just realized that i have no advertising at all in the right panel. there's nothing there, it's just blank. does that happen to you too?

only when i'm on the main screen, when i have a message loaded i get 3 sponsered links under the "expand all" option. but i'm also looking at it in netscape on osx, and there's some formatting problems where it goes to the right and it's blank, so that could mean something, too.

gonna b funny to see how fast popular names go and if they end up on ebay auctions like aim names did for a while

interesting..
i don't have anything under 'Expand all' in the right panel when looking at a message (or should i say, thread), although that's where the ads are supposed to be. oh, and don't have any formatting problem from firefox and IE

What I would like to see is what Yahoo just implemented, email aliases (or disposable email addresses). Quite useful when signing up for a forum or retailer...once you start getting spam from that email address, delete it. With 1gb of storage, it seems like this could be the end all be all email address. You never have to use your actual email address in online forms and it can drastically cut down on the amount of spam it gets.

In addition, what about wireless access via pda's and phones? Both Hotmail and Yahoo offer this.

BTW, how did you guys get selected to beta test? Any ideas when this is going to roll out?

another thing i'd like to see in gmail that yahoo offers. the ability to choose a replyto address and the ability to have your email look like it's coming from another address. I want this because I have a premanent forwarding address setup through my university and I want my mail to look like it's coming from this address to repliers don't get confused and what not.
