yep, it will take awhile to reach all the clusters though. i'd say by the end of the month pop3 will be available to all the accounts

it says hotmail abandoned pop access but i can still acess my account with outlook express so is that going to end?

i like how gmail currently group emails into conversations. if i was to access it thru outlook, would that feature go away?

well, he is right. POP will only allow mail to be stored client side, elimating the need for the 1gb of storage.

IMAP would be nice though.

uh, maybe i have SMTP and IMAP confused, o well.

Hotmail did abandon pop3 access. However, they still have a proprietary protocol that only works in outlook express and outlook. As long as you limit yourself to those clients, you will be able to access hotmail indefintely.

is anyone else having problems with Gmail access through IE 6.0? I log in and it just takes me to a blak page after the "Loading..." screen

yes. it includes SMTP.

Wow, that is one of the reasons I use softhome for email to all businesses.
