Gmail notifier mailto link problem

I just reformatted and installed WinXP. I installed the Firefox notifier first, then realized that didn't do anything with mailto links so I installed the regular Gmail notifier. When I click a link it launches a new tab in firefox but it's just a blank page. Just wondering if I need to keep playing with this or if it's down for others as well.

Edit: discovered the cause of the problem on Google's forum. The mailto link used to have "tearoff" in it. Now valid links are supposed to have "tf" in them, but the notifier has not been updated. Ah well.
