Hmm it seems that everybody these days are using gmail as their e-mail provider. All of my friends and teachers in H.S. uses it. Interested that it caught on very quick. I blame it's easy of use and reliability and lack of visual disturbances. Thoughts?

first to offer 1 GB
and unintrusive ads

I don't "blame" it... I happily use it because it isn't a bloated piece of crap like yahoo mail.

I get about 100 Spam mails a day to my yahoo account. I stopped using it the second I got a gmail account. I hate having to load flash ads and pop-overs just to read my freaking email... that, and I got in a bit early... so I didn't have to make an account like "xxJohn11Doe18234xx"

2.7GB of storage and climbing. Why wouldn't you get in on it? 😉
I've only used 11% of my Yahoo! Mail storage and I've had it since 05/2000
Yahoo! also gives you a "briefcase" so you save attachments and stuff (30mb)
Only reason I have/use my Gmail now-a-days is because most sites (like AT) don't accept emails for registration from Yahoo, but they do from Gmail

i use it for my work email. i fwd all my work mail to there so when im at a client where they block port 25 of my outlook i can go send and receive mail using gmail. i even configured it to send as my work account... so it would say "blah@gmail.com" on behalf of "blah@me.com"
and i never worry it will run out... 2GB man

I don't like that there's no way to view only non-labeled messages. I've got a gmail account listed on my resumes, but that's mostly just because I've got firstinitiallastname there, where most other email accounts I have are a nickname.
