Actually, I've noticed gmail being "down" maybe 5-6 times total now, it comes up with that error to cross your fingers and try again in a few minutes every time.

gmail comes up for me but it disappears after couple of secs. That is why I was checking.

I wasnt mocking the idea that gmail could be down, I was mocking him like I mock anyone else that comes in here and complains "I CANT GET TO POPULAR WEBSITE X! HOW ABOUT YOU?"

it has been flaky all day, its not the op's issue. I've had issues with it from both my work computer and home computer. Definitely a gmail issue.
