My wifes new X60s has a 1.66 CD, 2GB 667, 100gb, and GMA 950. It's running vista and aero just fine at the moment but I'm curious if it can handle BF 2. The intel website says BF2 crashes right after bootup and that you should contact the developer for a fix but I was reading they never update that site. And now that the game is over 1.5 years old I figure one of the patches may have fixed it.

Now I'm not looking for a smooth, beautiful experience here, just a bare min running of the game. We are on vacation in a few weeks and I would love to be able to get in on my tournament battle on the road.

Thanks!

Why don't you install the game and try it?

Even if it runs it'll be an absolute slideshow.

I was more seeing if it was even worth attempting or not. I'm sure it would probably be a slideshow but the idea was it might run acceptably at 800x600 all settings lowest but who knows. I might try it soon but it's sorta a pain in the butt to install.

EA/Dice fixing an issue? Ha! The game probably worked fine with GMA 950 when it was released, but broken in the first patch.

You know, after over a year of BF 2 tournament play I have to say your probably right, as sad as that is. I'll give it a try this next weekend when I have time since it looks like no one else here has tried it. Wish me luck!
