for gm vechiles that have the v8's with the dod, do they even benefit from the dod in city driving? I dont think they would with all the stop and go.

im not even sure under what condiitons it swithced to dod. All i know one condition when you are at a steady cruise speed, but im not sure how long you have tobe at a steady speed for it to go into dod.

I've heard good things about the GM DOD system. I'd assume you'd be running on 4 around the city unless you were gunning it, so you'd definatly see a big increase in mileage.

When you were cruising, decelerating, and idling you'd be using 4 cylinders. When you were accelerating you'd be using 6 or 8 depending on how hard you were pushing it.

So my guess is you would be getting the mileage of a V6, but power of a V8

Not bad IMO
