GM Top Engine Cleaner?

Well, my recent experience with Bar's Radiator Leak Sealant didn't work out. But I was wondering if GM Top Engine Cleaner works, or if it's just another snake oil? Would it cause problems for other parts of my car if I used it?

My father-in-law, Cadallic Service Manager and Pontiac mechanic before, swears by that stuff.

I personally think most products like it are indeed snake-oil, but I doubt you will hurt anything.

Bar's Leak is included in most new car and truck radiators btw...
