I don't care for most of their current vehicles, well I do like the vette and would get one buy my penchant for buying motorcycles eats that free money up way too fast. I also like the Volt concept shown earlier; basically a series hybrid - think how trains work.

More info on volt http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chevrolet_Volt

What appears most obvious is that releasing new products, which GM has done a lot of lately, gains you sales that don't require big discounts. Negatives in the report are hits in the financing arm and lower overall sales stateside.

In an environment where the US government is bent on sacrificing domestic manufacturing at the altar of free trade and health care industry profits, GM is doing as well as could be expected. New product is looking very good, and I hope GM manages to overcome its cost structure. No good deed goes unpunished, and GM is certainly paying the price for its commitment to take care of its retirees.

I really like that Chevy Volt, it's good to see Gm turning itself around.
