I imagine it isn't THAT bad, probably just being glorified because GM has been in the news a lot recently.

This cruze car is not bad when I rented one. Drives smooth and great gas mileage. Very quiet car.

So how did "GM halts some Chevy Cruze sales" suddenly became "GM halts most Chevy Cruze sales" when it got to Anandtech?

Just bought one a 2 months ago... *sigh*
I like it though - drives really smooth, manual transmission, great gas mileage. Hopefully, it's not something serious.

Spokesman Alan Adler confirmed that the automaker has ordered a halt to sales of models with the 1.4-liter turbo engine, about 1/3 of the Cruze models on dealers' lots. The order applies to about 20,000 Cruzes in total.

Wouldn't you be pissed off if you bought one yesterday?

This on top of adding almost a 1,000,000 more cars to the ignition switch recall. Next time GM can fold instead of being bailed out by taxpayers.

WHY... WHY? Why did they put the temperature control knob there? Right there where my right knee comes to rest. I'm not sure others have this problem with the Cruz or not, but the knob hurts after a while, but more importantly my knee turns it from cold to warm over time.

Good rental... Not sure I'd own one.

Had a Cruze with the 1.4 turbo and 3200 miles on the clock as a rental last week. Glad I made it out the other side. Rode nice and was quiet, but the transmission is a mess.

Seems odd that only 1/3 on lots are the fuel efficient version. Are they selling at that rate? Mostly not the most fuel efficient version?

Maybe CNN assumed the 1.4 was the most popular when they wrote the original title?

There can't be only 20k 1.4l Cruzes out there. What about the rest?

Also being recalled are the company's line of 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 pickups, as well as 2015 Chevrolet Suburban and Tahoe and GMC Yukon and Yukon XL SUVs equipped with six-speed automatic transmissions.

The truck and SUV recalls involve approximately 490,200 vehicles that may have a transmission oil cooler line not securely seated in its fitting. If the line is not secure and transmission oil leaks from the fitting, the oil could contact a hot surface and cause a vehicle fire, the company said.

Compact car? Whew glad I made it over 1k miles for one week in a rental car without axle failure.

I wouldn't really worry about it. I bought my 2011 Eco 6MT when they first came out and have never been left stranded nor had anything major wrong with it. Currently have 54,000 miles on it and I am still averaging 41 mpg overall. I am not a Chevy fan but this really is a pretty nice car for the money. I'm not crazy about the automatics but have heard some really good things about the diesel's.
